We were delighted that the celebrated pianist John Lill agreed to give our inaugural concert on 23rd October 2012. He played a programme of Beethoven, Schumann, Chopin and Prokoviev to a sold-out hall, and attended a Reception afterwards to mark our new Society’s launch. John’s recital was hugely enjoyed by all those attending, and we look forward to welcoming him back in a future season if his schedule allows.

The Iuventus Ensemble – Ruth Rogers (violin), Elizabeth Williams (violin), Rebecca Low (viola), Katherine Jenkinson (cello) and Thomas Hull (clarinet) gave our second concert to a full house on 24th April 2013, playing Haydn, Mozart, MacMillan and Dvorak. A very enjoyable evening with artists who have played many times for us at the RSM!

The final concert in our 2012/13 season was on 19th June 2013 by the Aquinas Piano Trio, with Jack Liebeck very kindly stepping in to join Kath Jenkinson (cello) and Martin Cousin (piano) at the last minute. He was replacing Ruth Rogers, whose baby Alexander was born at 2 am on the morning of the concert! We had a great concert of Haydn, Mendelssohn and Dvorak – his “Dumky” trio replacing the Beethoven Archduke. It was an excellent evening and a fitting end to our inaugural season.
